Hello SG Land!
Quite a bit has happened since my last post. I'm now in Vallejo and doing my 2nd rotation - Critical Care.
I spend my days making sure that patients in the ICU are getting the right meds at the right doses. I also have to do presentations for the inpatient pharmacists, who are super hardcore and can sometime be condescending. I really can't wait until this rotation is over cause it is super busy. My previous rotation, Internal Medicine, was supposed to be the difficult rotation, but critical care really takes the cake! 3 more weeks, and then I'm on to something new. I'll be at a VA for my next rotation, so it will be interesting to see how they are different from other hospitals. I'm at Kaiser now, and I'm beginning to realize that I do not want to work them the rest of my life. But, I guess I have to see how their community pharmacy is before I make any final decisions. My community rotation is next year sometime at a Kaiser, so I'll get to experience that first-hand.
As for Vallejo, I definitely don't see myself living here for more than my 1-year lease... All the people who complain that there's nothing to do in Stockton should give Vallejo a shot and then see what they say. There's not even a mall in Vallejo! I either have to go across the bridge or go to Fairfield! It's ridiculous, really...
A couple of weeks ago, I went down to So Cal for my friends' wedding. We all started in the same dorm back when we were freshmen. Here's them getting married:
And here's me, a groomsman:
It was an awesome wedding, except that there was no booze. BUT, there was a chocolate fountain, so that made up for it. My other friend just told me today that he and his girlfriend set a date for their wedding, which was a surprise, since he hadn't even told me they were engaged! They're both Indian, so he was saying that he had to seal the deal since it isn't right for them to "live in sin" for so long.
Anyways, I better get back to cleaning up my apartment, since I won't have much time during the week...
