I have some parakeets. I got 2 of them a couple of years ago, 2 boys, Bojangles & Krystal. Since then, my ex's mom found one out in the street and put her in the cage with the other 2. This was less than a year ago. Her name was Zaxby. He face was kinda messed up, probably just from being old. I liked her. Every morning, when I would change the water dish, she'd go down there as soon as she could to get a drink. She was also very...bold, as she would go wherever she wanted to, even if the other birds were they. THEY would have to move. That's how Zaxby rolled.

Anyway, yesterday, she was acting weird. Parakeets usually try to be as high as they can. Like, they feel safer being up high. Well, Zaxby was sitting on the bottom of the cage. There was no food down there, or anything, she was just sitting there. I knew something was wrong. I was going to the Bay Area to work on Saturday, so before I left, I was going to fill up their food dish for the following day. I go over to the cage and Zaxby is sitting on the food dish, which was not her usual spot to sleep in. I tried waking her up so she would move so I could fill the dish, but she insisted on staying put. She finally moved after a lot of coaxing.

I just got back to my apt to find her laying on the bottom of the cage...

I'm going to bury her tomorrow.
