Sleeping and lots and lots of sleeping. I have seen so many dreams and I can't remember any of them.
I saw four excellent movies yesterday:
Vera Drake- this one I had high expectaions for and was the only one I plannned on renting. It was an excellent storyline, excellent actress, very undramatic finish though. I thought the movie would be rather lengthy so when it ended with her in jail, I was kinda disappointed. But not to the point where the movie sucked.
Next I saw Final Cut- Robin Williams deserved an oscar long before he finally received one. Excellent movie, excellent acting, excellent storyline. For some reason, I have more of a tendancy to go for movies that are set either in the past or the future. That doesn't mean movies about the present suck, but just an observation. This is one of the few futuristic movies that is in my opinion, the most accurate to depict what will really happen ten or twenty years from now.
Then I put in Maria Full of Grace, the big surprise of the night-This is one of the strongest movies I have ever seen! Its about a mule....lol....a girl from Colombia doesn't see her life improving at all and takes it upon herself to smuggle drugs to New York via her digestive system. The biggest impact I got from it though was not really about drug smuggling, but rather how someone immigrates to a total new environment and what actions they do to get a life going.
Finally, the jacket- Again, I have an unexplainable weakness for movies that deal with the future, especially ones like this! A Gulf War Vet gets shot in the head and lives, and is put into a mental institution where he is somewhat of a gunnea pig for a mad scientist. What happens though is that this guy starts to dream and can literally place himself fifteen years down the future and .........oh go see it before I give it away...
