I don't know what is Happy Tree Friends and Roger Rabbit wasn't on my mind at the time I was painting but there is an obvious similarity in technique.
The first time I ever saw cartoons mixed with photography was that old Disney effort "Bedknobs & Broomsticks" and as a child that did have quite an effect on me, of course I'd have to credit Lily Tomlin's Snow White style murder fantasy sequence from 9 to 5, although Manko never heard of this & I didn't mention it to her or Albertine when we were working on the set.

We were thinking more specifically about Bambi, old UK Punk and trad tattoo art.
