Late one dark and gloomy night two inmates from an insane asylum escape through the roof of their building armed with nothing but a torch. Realising they can get away in earnest if they could just reach the roof of an adjacent building they ponder their situation.

"It's no good", cries one, "there's no way we can make it to another rooftop".

"Don't worry", says the other. "I've got a plan - I'll shine the torch across to the other side and you can walk across the beam", he said with a delighted smile upon his face.

His fellow inmate looked horrified at such a suggestion and replied, "fuck off, I'm not trying that, you'll probably turn it off when I'm half-way across just to spite me".
