Mar del Plata is a city located in the southeast of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the coast of the Argentine Sea. It is the head of the district of General Pueyrredón, an important port and seaside resort and the second most important tourist city in the country after Buenos Aires, since in summer its population can increase by 311%, so it has a wide range of hotel infrastructure.
It was founded with its current name on February 10, 1874 by Patricio Peralta Ramos, in a ranch he owned, on the basis of the second of the three extinct Jesuit Missions of the Pampa, founded in the second half of the 18th century, called Our Lady of Pilar de Puelches, which later received the name of "Puerto de la Laguna de los Padres".
The first settlers who occupied the area where the city of Mar del Plata stands today (which was previously known under the names of Costa Galana; Lobería Chica; Region of the Vulcán and Punta Lobos, among others) were the indigenous tribes of the Indians called pampas whose way of life was based on the hunting of animals and the collection of fruits that they obtained during their displacements through the region

Esta es la historia de la ciudad que me vió nacer allá en 1981,la ciudad de mis padres y mi familia,la ciudad donde migraron mis antepasados alguna vez,esta es Mar del Plata ayer y hoy
Mar del Plata es una ciudad ubicada en el sudeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, sobre la costa del mar Argentino. Es la cabecera del partido de General Pueyrredón, un importante puerto y balneario y la segunda urbe de turismo más importante del país tras Buenos Aires ya que en época de verano su población puede aumentar un 311%, por lo que cuenta con una gran oferta de infraestructura de hoteles.
Fue fundada con su nombre actual el 10 de febrero de 1874 por Patricio Peralta Ramos, en una estancia de su propiedad, sobre la base de la segunda de las tres extintas Misiones jesuitas de la Pampa, fundadas en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII, denominada Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Puelches, que más tarde recibió el nombre de «Puerto de la Laguna de los Padres».
Los primeros pobladores que ocuparon la zona donde hoy se levanta la ciudad de Mar del Plata (la cual anteriormente fue conocida bajo los nombres de Costa Galana; Lobería Chica; Región del Vulcán y Punta Lobos, entre otros) fueron las tribus indígenas de los indios llamados pampas cuyo modo de vida se basaba en la caza de animales y en la recolección de frutos que obtenían durante sus desplazamientos por la región
