Recently I have done some minor work for a person who is Blind and also hard of hearing (he had surgery so that he can hear alot better then he use to though). It wasnt hard to help him figure out what remote control does what for his Radio, CD and TV but he is starting to talk about driving him around in HIS car and also about setting up his practise (Social Worker) again.

I dont mind helping him out with some minor stuff (15 bucks an hour btw) but Im not a personal assistant, and to be honest I dont want to be. I have done some reasearch and found that the Department of Human Services offers some help to the Blind. I dont know if he has looked into that just yet, but the only other option is for him to actually hire a personal assistant of some sort.

Bottom line is that my life is simply in to much chaos right now for me to even attempt to help someone else try and get theres together. I need a steady job with at least 36 hours a week with benifits (amazing how hard that is to find these days).

Now to the point of this ramble, there is a local bakery that is looking for Factory workers, the pay is not as much, but it would still be the most I have ever made ($12.60 an hour) plus I need to be somewhere where I have the option of getting full time and benifits. I only did about 8 hours of work for him last week, and though thats a good chunk of money its not what I would make if I worked a min of 36 hours a week with that kinda pay (about $400ish a week).

Any advice on how I should bring all this up to the Blind person I am helping out? The best way I can think of is to mention the DHS, and to talk to him about my current situation. /sigh I dunno
