Ok, i know I haven't updated in ages. This term, I'm taking a seminar on the metaphysics of causation. Yes, it is just as technical as it sounds. I was just on the phone talking to someone else in the class trying to puzzle out the calculus in an article we're supposed to present after reading week is over.
I hope to get started on my term papers before the end of reading week, so I'll be spending reading week...reading.
In order to keep my sanity, I've taken up painting gaming miniatures. I'm nearly done with the first one, but I need to go back to the hobby shop to get a few more paints. The paint job isn't great, but it doesn't need to be since it's just a way to relax from staring at the computer screen or reading (either a novel for recreation or something for class).
I finally got Tara's computer all set up, so we're working at side-by-side desks, which is nice. Sharing on PC is ok, but we both like to customize in different ways, so having each our own is better. She does have the better PC at the moment, though. It'll be a while before I can even think of upgrading.
At the end of March, I'll attend the American Philosophical Association's Pacific Division conference in San Francisco. It'll be my first professional conference, and I'm really looking forward to it. Five days of philosophy lectures and partying in one of the most beautiful cities in North America, and one of our professors is President of this year's conference, so he gets the presidential suite at the hotel (which he has promised he'll fill with beer so we can have a huge bash one night of the conference).
That's most of what's up. Tara is happy with her secondary, and I would like to find one, but I've got so little time for anything but class.
Anyone (namely, people who ask me what has been up when I haven't updated in ages
) who wants to get in touch can look me up on MSN, the info is in the contact tab of my profile. I'm often on my computer writing or looking things up. Or (more rarely) playing video games.
