As reported by NyteSpryte, we saw Grindhouse last night. I thought it was entirely awesome. The fake promos and film artifacts did a great job of creating an atmosphere. The missing reels were especially funny because, as some of you may recall from an older journal entry, when we saw Poltergeist at the Prytania, they had the reels in the wrong order. Being at a theater that has trouble with reels when the missing reels come up in Grindhouse just made me think "Hmm, I think I'm at a grind house now, as a matter of fact." The second feature, "Death Proof" was a great feel-good segment, too. Just go see it.
I've been taking my time with my final paper in Hobbes, but I managed to get a summary written today. Now, I have the argument more worked out, so I don't have to worry that it won't get off of the ground. Tomorrow, I'll do a bit more work on it, and likely start it in earnest very soon.
