I haven't felt good for the last few days. I realized that some of it sounds like shamanic illness, plagued by spirits (albeit in a sometimes metaphorical sense). I know that might not make sense to some of my dear readers, and it might sound pretentious to others. Neither option bothers me.

I think I shook myself out of it some today and last night....

When I woke up today, I had an email from one of my TA professors asking me to sub today. Since it was short notice, I opted out, saying that I had work to do. Not that I lied. Yesterday I volunteered to present on aphorism 125 "The Madman" from The Gay Science. However, before I got underway, Tara pressured me into smoking some...

What i did was get some old figures i wasn't really into and just went at it.

Do you dry brush your stuff???
the_mad_monk:
Well the best way IMO to do a figure is to primer it black. Then decide what colors you're going to use. Let's say that the color in question is blue. You'd take the blue you're going to use, or a darker shade and add some black to it. About a 50/50 mix will do. Then once you're painted the area with it, Making sure you leave a small edge of black showing, you then add some more of the blue, taking the mix to about 75/25 blue to black. repete the first step leaving a little of the under color. Then go straight blue. finally you want to mix white and the blue togather about 50/50. You won't need a lot cause you'll just want to lightly hit the extreem high areas.

This way take some time, but the results are really great!!!

Hope this helps you dude, if not try this site for some better tips!

Happy painting!!!

I now only have one application left. The to-do list in my reminder app looks pretty spare now. I suppose that means I need to start preparing the lecture for my TA class since that item has crept up to "second-most urgent." I feel fairly tired, I think due to spending all weekend grading papers for Intro to Moral Theory. I find it easier to...

Today I had the first lecturer in my History of Logic seminar. I had to read more Aristotle, but at least I have a better idea of what he's up in developing the syllogism.

We got new cannabis, and we decided to hit the last of the old stash really hard. We've nursed a quarter from August until now. I'll likely grind up the last...

I love that you said this. You completely rocked me.

"ok, so I'm drunk on Nietzsche, a seminar on him will do that to you"

I haven't read any Nietzsche, but I get drunk on other writers and its so f-ing great.

I got up this morning and did some reading for my history of logic seminar. Aristotle and stuff about Aristotle. I dislike Aristotle. I understand reading him for the course, but I still dislike Aristotle. Then I got another application out of the way.

I realized this week that I don't have any classes with my home department this semester. I find it a bit...

I learn all manner of good things from reading Nietzsche. Apparently, in the saga of Siegfried, "vicious dwarves" refers to Christian priests. I think I'll start using that since it sounds so nice.

Sometimes, the only appropriate thing I can do after having a vision of any kind is read Jung. Today's Buddhist thought comes from him, actually:

"One could say, with a little exaggeration,...

PhD applications: let's just say one down, eight more to go. I just have to send off my writing sample. I'll likely do another application tomorrow. Hopefully, I can get them all done within two weeks.

Since it's the last day of the year, I feel obligated to write a journal entry. I do not, however, feel obligated to reflect on the past year.

I...

As Gothicsprite mentioned in her journal, we celebrated our anniversary-day on Wednesday. I enjoyed the snow bubble tea, and the dinner conversation. I also got to feel like a big man because we made reservations, not expecting the place to be busy but not wanting to make a last-minute change either, and when we got there, the place was packed, people waiting over 20 minutes...

Happy Festivus to all who celebrate it.

We don't actually intend to celebrate it, we have Yule to shield us from xmas. However, I do find myself amused that a company has started to sell aluminum poles. Does anyone who read this journal do anything for Festivus? The Airing of Grievances actually seems like a healthy activity, something that prevents a large amount of built-up...

Tonight I did my last shift in the computer labs. I mean that, too, my LAST shift. As in, next term, I have a different TA assignment taking up the six hours left over after my Asian philosophy class, so I don't have to deal with those labs at all. Instead, I have to grade papers for intro to moral theory, which I find funny...
