Been sending out resumes as you well know.
Got some responses this morning before I had finished sending all of them.
One of them said
Them: " We are looking for an intern. It doesnt pay much"
Me: " With my experience and edjamacation xx.xx to xx.xx/ hour is the standard rate in your area. What do you have budgeted?"
Them: " You are over qualified. Thanks for your interest."
Moral of the story.
This has to be the only profession where employers expect you to subsidize their firms.

I've thought long and hard about this general problem. The getting paid what I think I'm worth and being able to sustain a reasonably comfortable lifestyle...
At least getting out of the work what I put into it instead of a fraction of the earnings I help make an employer.
The only real way out is working for yourself.
Of course, that has it's own brand of headaches and risk as well.
