Took my crazy mother to the ER the other day. She developed Pneumonia. Probably from all the filth she breaths.
I put her sick dog and the aggressive one down today. Definitely an upsetting experience. Not much to say.
She is nuts, cant stand her. I would rather not ever deal with her again.

There used to be a hog farm a few miles up the road from me. In the summer time when it got real hot and if a lucky breeze picked up it would being that pig shit stench into town like the four horsemen of the apocalypse.
I swear if you were to light a match within 50 yards of the place you'd have some rapidly expanding, and exploding gases...
Thankfully the place got bought out and "developed". Now it's suburbanite heaven, townhomes built on old pig shit pools. A match made in heaven.

I know of some spots that you can enjoy with on a low budget. Send me an email when you fly into town, and I can forward you the stuff.
I don't feel all that big until I go try on clothes.
Went to the outlet mall today to try and find a few shirts. They seem to be a requirement at interviews. I don't know why.

When you move to a bigger city it will be easier to find clothing you like and in your size.
I have a hard time shopping for jeans long enough for this almost 6ft frame.
Either they are too short, or when I find the ones long enough, they are cut for the size 2 and 4 ladies. So I'm in the dressing room struggling to get them past my thighs.

Been sending out resumes as you well know.
Got some responses this morning before I had finished sending all of them.
One of them said
Them: " We are looking for an intern. It doesnt pay much"
Me: " With my experience and edjamacation xx.xx to xx.xx/ hour is the standard rate in your area. What do you have budgeted?"
Them: " You are over...

That's the way it is everywhere. Every employer wants more work for less money...
I've thought long and hard about this general problem. The getting paid what I think I'm worth and being able to sustain a reasonably comfortable lifestyle...
At least getting out of the work what I put into it instead of a fraction of the earnings I help make an employer.
The only real way out is working for yourself.
Of course, that has it's own brand of headaches and risk as well.
Joy!

Take care of yourself too. If you are ever in S.F. again, please do say hi, and I will take you out to lunch or whatnot.

Had another interview today. The guy didn't understand what he was looking at when I showed him my portfolio. Not to say I am better or smarter than anyone, just different just a little more open minded.
I get back to the house and there is an email from a firm in SF, " when are you going to be in SF?"

Aye!
I haven't been by in ages but last time you were also looking for work.
I sure hope it happens for you soon.
My brother went back to Brantford/Hamilton/Burlington where we grew up for the first time in 20 years.
He says it hasn't changed at all.
Somehow that doesn't surprise me

Island's good.
I think we get the best October weather in the country.
Crisp and bright: just how I like it.
Ancaster!
I lived in Ancaster for about 3 months until the man my mom was living burned our (his) house down to collect insurance money.
Which he got.
An early lesson learned: The key to scamming your insurance company is run down the street naked screaming "my house is burning - my house is burning"

I love San Francisco!
My visit coincided with the Love parade. It used to be held in Berlin but is now in SF. Heard some really good House Dj's on the floats. People danced drank and smoked weed in everything from funky costumes to buck naked.
Sunday there was the Folsom street fair. It would be better named Leather Fetish fair. Once you have seen...

I saw some sights of SF when I was watching Laguna Beach last night, it always looks so beautiful. I would certainly have moved out there if it wasn't so expensive. Well maybe in the future.

Welcome to adulthood indeed...
I guess I wouldn't say I'm all grown up, I mean I'm not a stiff. I like to goof off and act like a kid myself... Top it off with a few beers and I can get pretty reckless, heh heh.
Maybe part of it is I just don't have that aclcoholic gene in me and I do manage to hold down a job. Who knows.
Speaking of the J.O.B. Ya get any word yet?
SF always looked pretty cool to me too, never been there though... Vegas is about as close as I've gotten. Wait maybe Tucson, whichever.

Well I made reservations to go to SF. I will be there Wed at noon.

**shaking pom-poms for you**
I've moved 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. Whenever I get somewhere new, after a while I'm all pissed off about one thing or another, then I have to leave because I'm miserable.
I guess it's something inside I need to fix

I played with the coolest fly swatter. Not really a swatter more like a portable zapper. It looked like a badminton racket without the vertical strings. It took 2 double AA batteries and when you contacted the fly it would fry the little bastard. He he.
I think the electric charge messed with there nervous system because it was really easy to hit the flies....

thank you for the advice. i reported it at like 10 am sun morn when i woke up in a panic and just happened to check my acct online.
So I'm watching TV with the neighbor and the kitten brings us a piece of molted snake skin. About 6" long and 21/2 " in diameter. That's a big snake. So we grabbed a flashlight and went looking for the rest of it. We found 3 different types of snakes, from 8" to 20" long.
I was trying to get to San Francisco for the...

So you mean there are a bunch of snakes hiding in your neighbors house?? At any given time with no indication other than old skin?
I'd be on edge everytime I was over there. Yikes
Have you been to/lived in SF before? How exciting to be heading there with a one-way ticket.
Can't wait until it's my turn to get away from home.

I really wish I could find the sack to do that. Close my eyes and put my finger to a map.
Bolt.
Of course, it sounds like you have a pretty definite job waiting for you so... That takes a bit of the edge off
Still though, would be fun. A nice, fresh start somewhere new sounds really appealing to me. Always.
Good luck man. Hope to hear it all goes well for ya!

Maybe it was the beer.

When I drink I get all emotional unless I'm distracted by other things.

At least for myself, different types of alcoholic beverages produce different kinds of buzzes and emotional impulses...
Varying degrees of recklessness and mischief, heh heh.
It very well could have been the beer. If not, eh, everyone gets lonely. If you look, my name is carved on THAT table somewhere too.

I've tried to explain this to people, but few understand and some think I'm sorta creepy...
I loves me some critters, and I've always had pets, and having pets sometimes means putting them down. I never could afford to take them to the vet, so I learned how. It's not easy for me, and I take no pleasure from it.
Since then it seems like I've been stuck with that job a lot. I've become some kind of Jack Kervorkian for sick puppies and kitties. I've had to put down my friend's and relative's pets, it's no easier when it's somebody else's.
Not one of them has suffered, and I'm proud of that.
Yes, a good backpack is essential.
Don't forget to pack a good towel.
Don't panic.
Growing up out in the country has caused myself to have my fair share of dogs and cats that have had to be put down, or hit by cars or shot by the cranky old farmer across the street.
One dog I had was shot by said farmer in the back. The dog lost control of his bodily functions - he couldn't go on his own, we had to use a catheter - and he couldn't wag his tail. We tried and hoped but eventually he had to be put down. My dad did it, he gave me the gun afterwards and said he never wanted to see it again...
Sometimes it has to be done though, for the good of the pet and yourself. Hard as it may be.
Do they have like YMCA's or anything that you could lay up in for a couple of days if you needed to? Maybe look ahead of time for something like that so you know where they are.
Maybe scratch up some cash if you can (or even want to get back) and get a bus ticket back home in case you get stuck. Having that already taken care of might take some of the strain off.
Hang in there.
