I missed a spot with the sun screen. My ankles. Guess the socks I changed into were shorter the the previous pair. Now my ankles are a bright fire engine red and they are terribly swollen and painful. This could be one of the worst sun burn that I have ever had. Coming from a person that has gone to the hospital from a sun...

Camping in the Mojave desert is July is not for the faint of heart.
It was beautifull though. Took some great pano photos that will have to be stitched togeather. The light was a bit stark for good fotos. It would be better in November and you wuld not have to drink your weight in water every 30 min.
I will post one as soon...

Glad you had a good time. Sorry about your hands, though. I always forget something, usually the tops of my feet. Man, I can't even leave the house out here in the Valley this time of year so I can only imagine the Mojave desert. I'm sure it was nice at night, though.

I've always had a thing for the desert, I don't know why. Probably because it's so different than where I live. All this green shit growing around here...
The desert don't fuck around. It's pretty yet honest enough for you to know that it can kill you if you don't know what your doing when in it. I also love how it eats the sweat right up. Out here it just gets all sticky and uncomfortable between the nooks and crannies of your skin.
I never got to camp out in it but I know people around Vegas and Tucson and we used to go out in the desert for the day when I visited. Pretty cool stuff out there.
Will we get to see a pic or two?

Damn I cant keep up with multiple bank accounts.
All work and no play makes me dull! Kind of thick and slow witted, and I wish I could say Rich but I cant.
Going to the High desert on Sat. for a photo shoot. Kind of a bad time for it, being summer, but I will get to see some California back country. I don't...

Have fun on your photo shoot!

Yeah, I hate that when I feel like being quiet and people try to pull me out of my shell or try really hard to make me feel comfortable. Especially in a situation like that, where there's even a slightly uneasy episode in the past with that person.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Can we just forget about it already?"

Lloyd Cole was great. McCabes is such a small intimate venue that any show would be great to see there. No alcohol so no one is acting like retards. Mostly musicians and music industry people. I have been wanting to see him for 23 years. I wasn't disappointed.

Sometimes never seeing them again IS indeed a good thing...
Knowing that you won't lends itself a certain freedom though, ya know? You can be free to really be yourself or even a bit of someone else because it really doesn't matter in the long run. They'll never get the chance to figure out if your faking it or not!
There's one particular stripper I talked to for a bit, my money in her hand of course that I probably shouldn't see ever again though. I don't know what it is but every time I end up at a place like that and am a little (ok a lot) drunk I feel the need to try to get to know one of them a little. It's the brutal honesty of knowing it's a business transaction and that I'd never get anywhere with her I think so I just say fuck it and pour my heart out to them. They make decent, relatively cheap therapists. At least they act like they care until your time is up, heh heh. Not so unlike the real ones I suppose.
I've been kinda down myself lately too, lonely I guess so I suppose I took what I could get. It made me feel better having someone just to talk to though and I think she really appreciated someone just wanting to talk. In the morning I was a bit embarrased for unloading on a stranger, a stripper no less but what the hell anyway, eh?

I saw Peter Case Last night at McCabes Guitar center. It was awesome! An acoustic show with about 60 people. It was like being in someones living room.

That's the last thing I need is another rash...
Back from Hank the 3rd. He rocked! Except for the death metal opening act and Hank ended the show with Death metal. I just don't dig it. My favorite lyric of the opening act was "CUNT SUCK IT!" over and over. Yep make momma proud. Hank and his band was really good. The base player(stand up) had this whole Golem precious thing going on with...

I am trying to decide weather to go see Hank III Fri Night.
There are a bunch of up coming shows I want to see. Echo and the Bunny men, Beth Orton, RADIO HEAD, Neko Case. Burning Spear.

You should go see them all.

lol that was a funny story. I'm surprised they pat people in that area.
Had a good time last night. Went to see Elefant at the Wiltern. Had some fun liked the show. The sound system was kind of blurry and muddled. I do feel somewhat out of place since I am two decades older than a sizable portion of the crowd.
I have been searched at shows before but not for chewing gum.
I found that somewhat odd....

Ive been looking for a new cell phone I don't have one. My old boss had an extra so I used it since I arrived in LA and I gave it back when I quit.
I stopped in this Nokia place yesterday just to see what they had. Spotted this stainless steel phone. Looks nice and I have had Nokia phones in the past so...

Every time I want a nice shiny new phone I just switch carriers, sign a year contract and they give you a new one!!!
I went to Vegas once and we were walking around in the shops at the Venetian and came across this place that sold fancy pens and cigar cutters and shit like that. There was this pen they wanted $2500.00 bucks for, god knows why. I thought it was ridiculous so I asked the salesperson what a refill for the ink cost, just to be a smartass. She confirmed my suspicion when she replied, $2.50!!!
I'll stick to my Bics and Pentels I think...
Yeah the car... I actually feel kind of weird in it. Been driving beaters for too long. I feel like an ass somehow, like I don't deserve it or something. It draws a little more attention than what I'm used to or frankly, care for. I know they're going to give me shit about it at work tomorrow, a lot of peeps with bad credit or divorcees paying alimony that can't afford decent stuff. I feel kind of guilty, believe that?
Hope the new jobs going good for ya man. Still wish I could find something more in my vein of interest, without a pay cut anyway...

A friend of mine's daughter once went tubing for about 5 hours with no sunscreen, and she was on accutane which removes just about all of the oil from the skin. She had golf ball sized blisters on her arms and second degree burns. She had to be wrapped up like a mummy for a while, it was insane.
Since then I just don't go out in the daytime I guess. Or luck, maybe?
Of course now I've just hexed myself and I'll probably score a mad rash or something in the next day or two...
