Title: Observe!
I had a fun time with the other SG members last Saturday night. Not that much drunken hooliganry, but I had a great time.
(BTW, I don't drink.)
It was quite an adventure to get there. Quite an adventure to get back. And an adventure just to stay. In what was to be a not so bright idea, I thought that if I used my bicycle to get to The Ship and Anchor, I would be there with time to spare.
HAH!
Forty five minute cycle ride to get there. Forty five minute cycle ride back. The obstacles was one freeway next to the Children's Hospital, a busy and crowded 17th ave, and my nervousness to go into traffic. I stuck to the side streets, and even walked a few parts to take in 17th. It was the first time i've been on that street, and it is as beautiful as Kensington. I wanted to drink it in!
I arrived at The Ship and Anchor, and found a place to chain the bike. I went in, and it was crowded! Packed to the rafters with people. Quaint bar, though. Books on shelves. Soccer scarves over the bar. Like the inside of a dockside pub. It was cool.
Next, I had to find the other SG'ers. Unfortunately, I've only meet Aya and her friends in real life. She couldn't make it, and in a collosal lack of foresight, I barely looked at any of the Calgary SG'ers pics so that I could get a positive ID on them! I only knew Lotus by looks... poor me, it didn't help!
If it wasn't for Atrasties and the SG pin on his jacket, which I barely caught out of the corner of my eye, I wouldn't have tracked them to the table they sat in, just minutes away from when they decided to hop to another bar! My Irish luck prevails... for we went to Bob The Fish after Lotus arrived.
She looks different than her pics. Her hair is black. It's cropped short. Cute as hell though, for I am just a man.
Chatting with the SG'ers was interesting though. They're somewhat like me, though a bit more extroverted. In the group, I was the nerdy one, definately. There were a few punks, a couple of clean cut kids, and a suit in the mix. It was a surprisingly diverse group.
So, do it again sometime? Sure. I could use some more reality in my life.
Oh, and before I forget... must still challenge Aya and her Tau army to a tiebreaker. I don't make it to the GW games due to nightshift, so let me know when you can rematch, ok?

hahhah NOOOOO dont fall for it, Krispy Kreme is the DEVIL, I sware to gawth. I live right there and the zombies were lined up for weeks and weeks crowding around screaming for them, it was sooo frightening. Finally a month later I decide to go just to see what the fk is up with all these people and I take one bite and feel sick for the rest of the day. I hate that place and will NEVER go back.
