I hope your hip is okay. The good news is you can replace those boney suckers these days, but the bad news is you might have to take a couple weeks off of your hectic schedule of Bridge games and lawn bowling. Funny, in being away from the site, I find myself what new and interesting ideas are popping up in the journal of Billyboy. Nice to come back and see that we're still on the exact same paragraph of the same page. I've been spending way too much time participating in escapist behaviours (the drinking, the drugs) to avoid my own 'third person'. I am wasting away in this surburban environment. I hate it down here. School is actually the funnest thing I've been doing lately. I pretty much stopped snowboarding due to a broken car and no job or money for that matter. Life has its funny ways of screwing everyone over now and then, but i'm coping. I'm that guy you see in the bar on a weeknight, sober, shooting pool in the corner with a crooked stick, not making any shots, and yelling just loud enough for everyone to hear, but still know that its not directed at anyone. The whole time not frustrated with the actual shots, but the fact that i'm playing pool, alone, on a weeknight, yelling just loud enough for everyone to hear. life has its funny ways of putting you in your place every once in a while. arrr matey.

We don't have pres day as a holiday. The campus republicans held a protest about it last year, but as usual, no one listened.
I might be going to the Mates of States show tonight by myself. hopefully my friend will get back in time, but if not I'll just get real drunk beforehand. (always a good plan )

A New Jersey couple sued the Kellogg Co., as well as appliance maker Black & Decker Corp., for $100,000 in damages, alleging that a cherry Pop-Tart they put in their toaster turned into a blowtorch and burned down their house. The couple admitted to leaving their house while the Pop-Tart was heating up, despite the warning label on the box advising against leaving food unattended in the toaster.

A New York lawyer is seeking class action status for a lawsuit already filed against McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, and KFC, claiming the companies' food is too unhealthy. The plaintiff seeks damages for a multitude of ailments, such as obesity, he claims were caused by eating fast food. The lawsuit also seeks to require fast food companies to place warning labels on their food reminiscent of those used by tobacco makers.

Yeah, my enviro class is doing the exact same thing to me. No matter what I do, or how guilt-ridden I am every time I am in a position to consume something, I still feel I'm not doing nearly enough. I just found out that the Van Island Vegetarian Assoc. is going to set up a local organic food co-op sometime this summer, so if I get involved with that, not only will I be bettering off the community, but I'll get local organic summer friuts and veggies for CHEAP!

Why is it that I always spend more time responding to your journals than writing in mine?

you know what? brown eyes are my favorite eye color. I really don't consider brown to be a boring color at all.
