Last night at work was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will be checking into the temp service and see if they can locate me a differnt job.
(look at the previous entry to see about yesterday)
Add to yesterday that Misty kept going over and checking how many doors were made - and at end of night she brought out a calculator and started checking things. I asked if everything wsa OK, and she said yes.
So....
Monday night.
Misty tells one of the coworkers in the area that we should have 4 more doors than what we had. This was (of course ) relayed to me via that same coworker. Throughout the night Misty was keeping track of what we completed (even though I was the one operating the machine). So, after trying my darndest to get out more, we still were off the amount by 2.
And, there were 2 breaks (10 min each) that came up, so we were down a little bit more because of them. (Obviously no one works through their break ?)
So, when it gets to be 15 minutes before end of shift (the normal time we would stop and clean up, and make up the parts needed to fill the racks for the next shift) Misty tells me to run until we get our rate. We ended up running until 2 minutes before 6 am (we leave at 6 am).
One coworker (Angie) has been noticning all the shit I have been dealing with. She works about 5 feet away from me, and can hear this stuff going on. She was not at all happy when I told her that I was told to run until we get rate (especially since Misty is not my supervisor). She told me (and repeated the same thing when Misty was near her) that Kim (our regular supervisor ) will hear about this. (I dont know if Angie realizes that Misty and Kim have the same last name.
Top that off with the other supervisor (that has been filling in for Kim while she is on 1st shift filing in for a person who had a death in the family). Bob is his name, and he was watching me like a hawk tonite too.
(Last night, Misty told me that Bob told her that we needed to get the rate of 9 hours in 8 hours wirht of time (since the machine was down for an hour). When I confronted Bob about this ( I did it in a friendly way) he states taht Misty must have misunderstood him.
AS I have said, I am going to check with the temp serivce today about a job. The current work environment is too uncomfortable and I feel my job is in jeapordy since Misty is around.
As a matter of fact, I am seriously considering calling off tonite because of all the undue shit and stress going on. When I do my job, I do it to the best of my abilities, and I try to make sure it is up to par. Since I operate a machine, I deal with 3 other people: 2 people before the machine that have to put together the frames of the fridge doors (one of which is Misty), and a person after the machine that deals with putting the trim on one side of the fridge door (that is Angie).
I ahve been told by my supervisor (befor all this shit) that even though the rate on the paperwork is 30/hour, that I shouldnt try for that because it makes everyone go too fast, and causes more scrap. Then, after Misty started working back there, my supervisor tells me to go for 29 an hour and do not go fast, and do not do many over.
Then, the week Misty is gone (out for surgery) My supervisor tells me to go to 28/hour and find a "happy medium" speed to work at.
When Misty returns, my suprervisor (even while there are people training in the area) tells me that I "have to push" to "make sure we get our numbers".
After that week, one of the new people already quit, and Angie (she has only been there maybe 3 weeks) looks like she will follow suit. Angie sees exactly what is going on, and she is the one that heard my supervisr tell me to push (even with people training).
Angie called off Sunday night (and while I will not aske her, I suspect she is looking for a differnt job --- she made no bones to me about it last week - that she wasnt goin to put up with this. At least Angie knows it isnt my fault: she has even said to me "let Misty take a look at it: Misty knows everything, or at least that is the way she acts".
Needless to say, this uncomfortable work environment (maybe even considered hostile in some sorts) is not something I can put up with.
And for those who do not know.... I have worked there for 2 years. The only times I took off (as in occurrances):
2003: oct - day (severe pain- uti)
2003: nov: 2- half days (had to travel to PA to see mom - she was in hospital and not given good prognosis)
2004: Jan- 1-half day - friend in work accident (Jake)
2005: half hour - car broke down while driving to work.
So, when I say I am seriously considreing taking the night off, that hsould give you a good idea how this doesnt bode well with me.
So- becaue of all of this - I dont know if Im going out at all this weekend.

p.s. Misty also tells me when I am going too fast (she told me on Sunday night I was going too fast -- yet at end of night brings out her calculator)
