For those who don't know, I work in a warehouse packing heavy parts. the area I work in (by myself) is filled with dead air and very little circulation (if any). Now, combine that with the heat indexes (or as the wierd spelling is -- heat "in dices") and it is a recipie for bad stuff.
Last night I had a LOT to do in my area - AND after that, I ended up having to do my work and then work in another area.
I felt horrible: my temples felt like they were sticking out and they were painful - and my stomache was queezy.
(*note: we did receive a popcicle after first break - but our breaks are not on set times)
At other places Ive worked, when the heat " in dices" were really bad- our supervisors would have us take extra "heat breaks" to make sure none of us passed out.
When I got home last night, I was unable to eat -- even a little cup of italian ice - I had to put that back in the fridge. I turned the air on to high cool. And even after taking a cold swhoer, my head was still hot.
I was finally able to eat at 1 pm today - a small turkey sandwich.
And now ... another day of work
