I must go to sleep before woirk. GRRR: I wish I could win the lottery: it might be the only way many of us will be able to afford the increasingly higher and higher gas prices.
Today, speedway changed their price3 (in piqua) - for a few days it was 2.79... NOW, they changed it to 3.09!!!
(YET.... Walmart and the otehr gas station here SITLL have it at 2.79!!!)
I am still working my way on getting some things paid up to date: I have a ways to go (snd doing my darndest to get all of it taken care of while the gas is high :eek)
BTW- in case you do not know... Spencer's in Piqua is going out of business: the mall is f'n them by raising their already 5 thousand dollar rent. So, if you like Spencer's stuff - you might want to check it out.
On the job fromt....
I have a strong feeling I will be needing another job when school starts. The job I currently have makes you sign a statement that says you understand that if you need to keep 85% productioon rate or higher to stay at job. However, there are a few things to note:
1* there are people that will go WAAY beyond the rate of a job - which in turn causes the rate of that job to be placed at a very high rate. Then- only the person who got the high rate can achieve the higher rate and no one else can. AND, only after 6-7 months of employees not meeting the new rate will they opt to lower the rate.
2* There are MANY MANY things that go wrong within the different jobs themsleves. For example, one job had you placing parts into plastic bins. The only way you knew how many went into the bin was seeing how many the previous shift was able to fint into theirs-- and then you had to figure out how you were going to make your parts fit into the bin. THEN, you end up having to switch to a smaller bin (becuase they are out of the normal size ones) and you have to try all over to find out how many will fint in the bin-- and how to get them into the bin.
3* There are times when either the machine doesnt run right, or the material is bad and will not fit into the machine easily. If tehre is a problem with the machine it has to be worked on. BUT if the material doesn't fit well into the machine, you are expected to run through that material anyways - which means you have to push hard the material into the press -- and pull hard the material out of the press -- which in many cases the parts get stuck eitehr way and you have to try and wiggle the parts around to see if they will finally come out.
With all of this, it is a rarity to get a good rate. I do try, however, there is only soo much I can do- and I am not going to be causing myself to get injured trying to pull or push parts (which in my opinion should not be used if they cannot fit easily into the machine).
Anyways, add to that the fact that in May the shift got switched from Sunday to Thursday, 10pm to 630 am -- to 10 hour shifts that are from monday 8 pm to 630 am to thursday night 8 pm to 630 am -- and when the new semester starts, my classes start at 1 pm to 3-4 pm. The company has stated that the 10 hour shifts were going to be temporary-- and it would be decided on Labor Day Weekend if it was going to be permanent. If it becomes permanent, I have to look for another job (especially since the next semester after this one will have me in Algebra class, which will be from 8 am to 11-12 pm monday through friday-- a five credit class.)
I am hopeful I can find something before next semester starts: I really need something that will not cause me unnecessary stress -- because the last time I had stress from trying to find another job, it cost me my grade in Math.
