What's a computer? What's the Internet? What's a zip disk? How do you make an email attachment?
Never ever again will I teach in a computer lab. For the love of God...when did we learn all that? 10th grade??? How is it that freshmen in college are asking these questions? One of my classes went 15 minutes late today cause we were discussing email attachments and zip disks.

Ok I feel a little better now. For the most part, everything is cool. I know my students names already, have collected the first sets of writing, and have a few really cool kids in my classes. I shouldn't be so angry, really.

I was in a training class for a software program once and the instructor started instructing us on the way to use a mouse. I chuckled and asked if that was absolutely nessisary. He said yes because he once had a student that when he told them to click the mouse on a particular item there was a student that put the mouse to the screen and began clicking. She could not figure out why it wouldn't work.
