Wednesday 12th I went into labour, had my show in the evening and was having contractions, but over the next 24 hours I only dilated 1cm, rubbish! By 4am Friday 14th I had to go into hospital for some pethadine so I could sleep, I slept about an hour, had a hell of a lot of painful contractions and at about 9am I was 9cm dilated. The midwife broke my waters and Soph was delivered in an hour of pushing. She popped out with such speed that it felt AMAZING. She didn't cry, just caught her breath, lay on my chest and looked straight in my eye.
Best day of my life bar none.
Sophie Sylvia Aldridge was born at 10:25am on Friday the 14th of August. She weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces, was 50cm long and had a head circumference of 34cm. She is PERFECTION!
And now what everyone wants to see;
First feed. Flicking Mummy the bird!
Just before going home.
11 days old, the most beautiful girl in the world.
