#homework What album should everyone listen to at least once?
Well, since I'm Brazilian, I'll suggest a album from my country. So all the songs are in Portuguese. It's always good to try different things, is not it?
These songs are from singer Alice Caymmi, she is the granddaughter of Dorival Caymmi, a very important singer and songwriter here in Brazil. "Rainha dos raios", "Queen of rays" in english is the name of this album. There could not be another title of this contemporary masterpiece that confirms Alice Caymmi as the great name of modern Brazilian music. First, because "Rainha dos raios" is the electrifying shock of creativity in the pop universe. Second, because the genesis of this second album by Alice - exponent of the third generation of the emblematic Caymmi family - begins at the artist's meeting with Strausz, a Carioca (A person born in rio de janeiro) musician linked to the electronic beats universe. With Strausz, Alice presented in June of 2013 a demolishing re-reading of Iansã, repaginating the partnership of Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil launched in 1972 in the voice of Maria Bethânia. And this is the first song I'm going to indicate:
