I somewhat accidentally went on a date with one of of the Japanese businessmen I teach. He asked me out last weekend when I had just come to work from Taekwondo class, so I was all post-workout euphoric, and hungry and in a hurry to eat lunch before I had to teach. And I said yes before I really thought about it. It was a really nice date, though. So maybe dating doesn't have to be awful.
