One of the last projects on the new house is almost complete - the custom cabinet work. Getting these in has made this feel more like the house is completed. The electrician comes tomorrow, and other than some painting and organizing the house will be done.
With the house feeling more complete. I mentioned to my girlfriend that I can't wait to be able to share it with her. We can't move in together unless we are married, she doesn't want to place her son in a situation like that and I can't blame her. But I still look forward to the days when we are in this house together.
I had that conversation with my mother, I explained to her that it is very important to my girlfriend that my mom be comfortable with the idea of her and her son moving in, and that she really would like my mom to continue living with us if/when that happens. I also discussed with her, the need for her to find something more to live for. And for her and I to improve our own relationship. I'm not sure that went over well
You might see a wee cone headed pup in the picture above. Dusty, the poor little poodle had to have a mass removed from his leg. My mom refused to get a biopsy, I think it had more to do with her fear of cancer taking yet another thing from us than it did with money.
My girlfriend leaves next month for a month long trip to Europe. She offered to pay for me to go too, but I can't manage it, with my classes and work I know I can't get that much time away. I'm going to miss her so much, but I hope she has a great time.
