So we are having a joint birthday part for myself and a few other friends with November birthdays. One of the friends was at the Halloween costume party and she wants to have another costume party, so we let her pick the theme... yes it's "Scottish kitty robot pirates from outer space". That's a mouthful and a bit mind boggling to be honest.
Surprisingly all I needed to put together a costume was a kitty (lion in this case) mask. I'm more stumped on how to cater the party. What sort of food would Scottish Kitty robot pirates eat? Haggis with tuna, motor oil and hard tack? Well it's a few weeks away, so I'll think of something.
Despite the odd theme and the hurdles that creates, I'm excited for the party. My birthday has been tough for the last few years. My dad died on November 21, just 5 days before my birthday. This will be the third anniversary of his passing. With my birthday being so close to Thanksgiving, I don't usually get a party and especially not one very close to my actual birthday, but this party is on the 24th, so this should be fun.
I think I'm rambling at this point... perhaps because I just had a student write in their assignment, "Jesus helped me with this assignment". I'm a bit lost as to how that works really.
