januseyes: As bad as I am about staying up
really late and not getting enough sleep I really, really
like waking up early in the morning
januseyes: especially going to downtown charles
village in the course of an early-morning routine
januseyes: it usually involves parking my car on
st paul street and 34th - and then walking a block to
university market to acquire some red bull
januseyes: typically there are a couple bums out
there, and we chat for a little bit
januseyes: I had an interesting conversation with
them today...at the end of it I offered both of them
some change
januseyes: one of them was cool with it, thanked
me and took it
januseyes: the other guy already had a bagel and
a coffee - and because of that he said that he was
cool
januseyes: and that he didn't need it
januseyes: 'I got all I need brother. you take care'
januseyes: I thought it was really quite interesting
for him to say that
januseyes: very sort of Buddhist monk, living
without possessions or accumulating worldly worth*...or
hunter gatherers that don't have a linear notion of
time and therefore don't feel the necessity to plan for
the
januseyes: future
januseyes: (not that it's the lack of a linear notion
of time that prevents them from planning...it's
probably the lack of planning [they always have what
they need easily available] that lets them not have a
januseyes: linear notion of time...but you know
what I mean probably)
januseyes: that and the purple post-sunrise sky,
and cool misty air, sort of added to the surreal
atmosphere of it all...that the world was - to everyone
that woke up early enough to see it at the perfect
time..
januseyes: at least, in its essential nature, both
an exceedingly strange, but also a good and happy place
*= though I do realize that he probably is also mentally ill

Glad you liked the book.

Yeah, I'd like to see something that you wrote. I've gone through dry spells that have lasted considerable amounts of time - it's not like it 'spells the end' for your artistic ability.

It's good that someone has some talent or inclination for it. I'm not exactly a Neanderthal without it getting done - but I do suffer from the curse of the Semite.

Gives me 'lashes though. Happy about that, really.
