Well, what a trip! It was awesome!!! Loving it and already planning for next year
I REEK!!! I am sitting here waiting for jean to get out of the shower and stinking the place out hehehe.
Wellas they say I went to Download an all I got was a lousy T-shirt, and bloating from bad food and dehydration.
Well here is my top 5 from Download....
5 Soil, a great way to kick off the weekend circle moshing to Halo! Bit too much new stuff but very good, and a guest appearance from wicked wisdom, Will Smith is a very lucky man, and whipped...definitely whipped
4All American Rejects. I got to sing along to Move Along, just like on the album version, magic!
3Dragonforce. Hehehe oh these guys rock and deserve to be higher but, oh what a weekend! Short sets all round so these metal gods only got to riff through about 3 tracks, but in that time one of their guitarists burnt out 4 guitars, All together now....PROUD AND VICTORIOUS, STANDING THE FOUR OF US grab your metal wig and broadsword
2Henry Rollins. The only spoken word act at Download (and most places to be honest) I am the only person I have spoken to anywhere all weekend who caught this act. There were not many of us there and for that I feel priviledged. Henry Rollins speaks about many subjects in his shows. If you ever have the chance to listen to him, do so. Listen very closely! He was so funny, smart and sharp. Whats more he made me feel proud to be who and where I was (and am!). I shall return to this shortly but first.....

LORDI Front and centre in two people between me and the stage, throwing those horns jumping with the sweating fans all round me, moshing to hell and back and roaring every single lyric with the rest of them! OMG Lordi rocked, he hit every high note; Devil is a loser, Blood red sandman, Hard rock hallelujah, Putting the balls back in rock....you get the picture. Lets put it this way, I had a average size man droopped squarely on my head and was still grinning!
Honourable mentions go to everyone else who made the weekend fucking spectacular! On and off stage
And to finish...Henry Rollins spoke at length about being part of a community, linked by the choices we make in appearance, attitude, music and beliefs. About staying true to this no matter where you go in life. This really clicked with me and I immediately felt the urge to to tell you all something which I have held onto until today when I get back to SG....
I've met a lot of friends on here, some I've met, some I hope I will and some I probably never will meet. Every single one of you is precious to me and everyone single one of you is fucking awesome!! I am better for knowing each and every one of you, so stick around it'll be a blast!

All that'll happen is more pissed up idiots in the streets more of the time, which is exactly what they're trying to prevent. I sometimes wonder how these people's brains work!
