The first crash of thunder of my time in Portland has just occurred. As I walked back inside, I saw flashes of heat lightning, and it inspired me to put on the sublime sounds of The Church. Please don't let The Church end up on that piece of shit NBC show with the UK jackass going "THEY'RE BACKKKK!!" Please.
So I was buying groceries n' Magic Hat at Hannaford... I was dressed pretty normally, looking like a run of the mill shoppin-twentysomething, and some girl asks "uh, do you work here?" I give up.
Oh, and a quick recap of the couch saga, for those that didn't already hear...
Sunday, 3:30 pm, call placed to the younger brother who, with his friend driving, was transporting my couch to Maine:
Me: So, where are you?
Brother: Uhh, Amesbury.
Me: Oh, ok, so you're an hour away.
Brother: Uhh... yeah... uhh, small problem.
Me: What?
Brother: Uhh... we had to slam on the brakes, and, uhhh, the couch went flying out of the back.
Me: (Long pause) So, you're telling me... it's destroyed?
Brother: Uhhh... yeah, I guess...
Me: (Long pause) well... shit.
Brother: Uhhhh... do you still want us to come up?
Sigh. Fuckit. Looks like I'm buying a futon.

It's been raining here a LOT. MAJOR flooding in some areas. I should post some photos. Funnel clouds too. And more rain to come. I'm sure some people are getting really worried.
