Monday was a rather interesting day. I'm back 9-to-5ing it at the "winter job," so it was a good feeling to be back in the office. Not so good sifting through 400 emails that went unchecked since April when I last logged into my work computer. 35% viruses, 35% spam, 20% memos that had little or nothing to do with me, 10% emails that had redeeming value from people I knew. Hmm... that's 100 percent, right?
After leaving, went to the radio station where I still will continue to work, doing the airshift on Oldies and selecting the music on the Classic Rock station. Shortly after hoppin' on the music scheduler, BOOM. Power goes dead. That meant an hour and a half of waiting for the electrician and shooting the shit with my boss and the afternoon guy. Two minutes before the electrician shows up, the building's got juice again.
By the time I'm done, I'm tired, and I decide to go to Borders and grab a mocha to revive me. I run into a girl I was friendly with, skied with a couple of times even, but hadn't run into in nearly a year. She was looking for music that would be conducive to belly-dancing. Hmmmmm, says I. Anyway, after some polite-chit-chat we said our good byes, and I went to poke around at the CDs.
Moments later she's back, looking for more CDs, and asking "have you eaten yet?" Instant dinner date! Yes, I bought. I now have a standing invitation for dinner at her place. I'm not gonna let her slip through the cracks this time. Regardless, we shall see what happens.
This year I've noticed a recurring trend: people who I once thought I'd never see/hear from again have drifted back into my life. I've realized I'm pretty lucky in that regard. Let's hope it's a trend that continues.
Oh, and the CD i got: Johnny Winter's debut album. Still gettin' into it. Albino blues, baby.
I hope Tim Wakefield can turn things around tonight for a) himself and b) his team.

Yesterday was the first day of "fall", not "snow fall".
