What bothers me most is my father's and sister's cavalier attitude to it. Things like "If you don't behave, we'll put you down." "Arthur was really ready. He went right away." Did you ask Arthur, Dad?

I have heard that a cat at home in Texas is missing. She is just a wild cat, my parents kid of adopted her when they were in Istanbul. This cat remembers me and likes me. She has done this before, but I am still worried, half way across the country.

On the other hand, a cat that we and everyone else who met him loved him, died in pain because my sister would not let me end his pain.

Animals, pets, companions. Often more reliable than humans. They are not replacable. Of course, you can buy and learn to love another dog. But it will not be the same dog.

We have no pets here, my flat mates will not allow it. So I treasure my moments with the cats when I in Texas.
