And finally I got my license renewed online. I paid off all my tickets, waited in line at the RMV for an hour, and when I got to the line I couldn't renew my license because one of the towns that ticketed me hadn't removed the hold on my renewal even though I'd paid it. Sonofabitch. I had to rush home for an appointment, and by then it was too late for the registry, but I went to the parking ticket office and got it straightened out. I've had it with the registry, so I just renewed my license online, the only drawback being that they'll re-use the same picture from 5 years ago, taken the day I started working at Statestreet, back when I still aspired to be an office drone. I look different, but the important thing is people at bar's realize it's me.
It's been a slow month for work, and I took a day off to drive to the South Shore to take pictures for Vespera's photo set, which was approved the other day and will be live on the site for member review on October 4 at 2 pm... I think that's the right time and day. So now she's a hopeful (yea!). We've been talking about ideas for another set for her because, well, obviously she'll need more than just that 1. We're going to do a set in my band rehearsal space and another in her parents' back yard. I attached one picture here. I don't know if this one made the cut to the final set... I think it didn't.
She also took some pictures of me for a new Suicide Boys set, but ultimately I was too hot and tired to get many shots of myself, so I figure I'll save them for later and maybe take a real set next time I'm down in the boondocks. I attached one of me below. Going to the trainer for the last 7 weeks has helped, hopefully I'll have my 6-pack back in another month or 2, or at least close.
So business is slow, but at least I'll be in Vegas in 3 weeks. We switched hotels from the Mirage to THEhotel at Mandalay Bay because THEhotel was offering a few comped nights in a suite (they like me in Vegas), and I've never stayed at Mandalay Bay, and I've never stayed in a suite in vegas. The total for hotel actually comes out to be $30 less, not that I made the change for financial reasons. I'm thinking of having my birthday dinner at this restaurant where "wine angels" are attached to pulleys and fly your wine to you. I'm not making this up, I saw a picture on the website.
