So I got a light up Transformers back pack for Ellison with a matching lunchbox. Its what he wanted for school. Funny thing is, he has never seen the transformers. Whatever!

I spent the day on the phone talking to school administrators and the finance guy. I had requested a particular teacher for Ellison and that request was not granted. They said because that they usually don't grant requests. Classes are sorted based on a whole pile of criteria...yada yada yada. This teacher is by far the more popular. The other is supposedly good, but new. No one knows her yet. The school has a high standards for teachers which I guess I trust.

This is an expensive private school. I wonder if the fact that I don't have tons of volunteer time and money to throw at them is the real reason. The parents with these things probably get first choice for their child. Younger siblings also have some rank.

The babysitter was in Ellisons place as a child, which is one of the reasons she is so great to have around. She too was the financial aid kid at the expensive private school. She said that she loved the school and that it shaped her and opened her to a future full of confidence, abilities and possibilities. But, there was a difference between her friends and the rich kids that was well known. Basically she dealt with it and is fine. I'm sure Ellison will be the same way. Its the reality of the world.

I have to remember why I picked it in the first place.
