Sooo...if you read my last blog then you know that we were on a our way to San Diego for a little fun in the sun vacation. We had a good deal on a hotel right on the beach. Our hotel window supposedly looked out at the ocean. We had planned on going to Legoland, which is supposed to be the best amusement park for kids Ellisons age. I was going to suprise him with a trip to San Diego harbor to look at the boats and sea lions. We were gonna take our time coming home and maybe do some camping out in the desert. Ellisons favorite thing is to sleep in the truck.
We go 30 minutes out of Tucson when the clutch on my truck blew.
I spent $173 towing us home and I lost money on all those last minute cancellations.
My truck. My precious 1994 Nissan Pick up that I have had for over 12 years. My home away from home. My persoanl tank, able to haul, pull and work like hell. I have to give it up! I already put $600 into it this year and the clutch could easily cost another $1200. I have to give it up. I have known this day would come for a while now.
When Ellison was a baby he road in the front seat of the truck, right next to me. State law says that children go in the back seat where it is safer. Well, if all ya gots is a pickup truck, they go in the front. I loved having him rigtt next to me where I could touch him.
I knew when I found out it was the clutch that Nissie would have to be put down.
Today I bought a brand new 2009 chevy aveo. I got it for a pretty good price and 0% interest for 60 months. Can't beat that. Its an OK car. I plan on using it to trade up for a better car in a year. I really wanted a VW Jetta or passat, but just could not afford one.
It was time for a change. I have been wanted a 4 door car for some time for two main reasons; 1. So that we can have more than 1 passenger at a time. 2. Nissie had a huge appetite for gas.
Still sucks that we didn't get to go on our vacation. Poor Ellison had to endure 3 days of car shopping. NOT very fun for him at all!
I got a couple days of vacation left. We will make the best of them. I'm sure there is plenty to do right here cause I can't afford to go anywhere for a long time.
