Blog Homework - What were your favorite video games as a kid?

Boom!

Lately I've been on this gif-making spree, but no one has complained yet. Don't mind my messy room, I am moving (again) soon, so it's going to be this way for some time.

This week's @bloghomework covers one of my favorite topics, teehee :D

@missy @rambo @lyxzen

I have first started playing PC games (that's when I first started taking video games seriously - when my parents bought me a PC) in the late nineties, so I still remember the times when Lara Croft had perfect triangular boobs. Speaking of Tomb Raider, Lara Croft has been some sort of a childhood hero for me - I remember when I was a pre-teen I used to style my hair in a single braid and I attempted to adapt her snarky sense of humor. Tomb Raider was one of my favorite games hands down, and my most favorite was Tomb Raider: the Lost Artifact.

I think it stood out in my eyes because it had a hint of darkness and mystery that was not as obvious in previous installments. Even to this day I wonder about some elements of that game. And how the hell did Sophia Leigh survive that encounter in Tomb Raider 3?

Another top favorite was Drakan: the Order of the Flame. If you are ever tired of slaying dragons in Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, take a look at this timeless classic - here you RIDE the damn Dragon!

I have a feeling this game was heavily underrated. I recall this game being very atmospheric and intense, which was accentuated by an amazing soundtrack. It was also one of the first games I ever played that incorporated elements of open-world exploration, which was a big deal. Also, when your enemies look like this, who needs friends?

And then there was Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2, which was a part of the famous comic/cartoon franchise. Very epic game, very underrated as well. I remember I was speechless. It's such a shame they never came up with a sequel, the ending explicitly suggests there should totally be one.

Also, pretty damn good graphics for 2000, huh?
