I decided to quit smoking two days ago.
i know.
agian.

i think the key will be avoiding bars, gossip circles, moody songs and rainy afternoons.

but how do you avoid rainy afternoons.
especially when you just rediscovered a mix cd you made during a week that deserved a dimissive drag or too.

I think im going to go buy a pack of gum

So I guess you basically have to avoid life now.

Good luck. My mom has not had a cigarette for six months after smoking for like 30+ years. It's tough for her.
muggan_music:
you CAN'T live in NC and not smoke. there are rules!

Updates of little consequence:

~I'm still here. I've been working a great deal though. My back and feet ache. My eyes feel sluggish.

~I've decided to put things right with my mother. I figure there has to be something in her worth fighting for. I figure I can dig the good out of her eventually.

~With others in my life Ive decided to quit fighting...

I've been slackin on the updating because I've been crazy sick.
Perhaps I could get over the sickness if I would get some sleep and quit going out each night....Fuck that noise.

To those I've meet over the last two weekends: your all so lovely.

Quick update:
Convinced the new girl (we'll call her 'Nee' from now on) to go to the local open mike night. She's been out of the live performance thing for a while now and I decided this would be a good way to ease her back in. I'm not one for easy complments, and I have to admit she is really fucking good. Or at...

It was good seeing you again last night. Even the parts I probably wasn't supposed to.

There are always theaters up here in Asheville looking for costume designers. Most of them pay. If you want Ill keep an eye out for any opportunities.
muggan_music:
awesome to meet you.

There has been a great deal of false starts lately. Despite my affection for starts and beginnings, its good to see that some things do develop further. Sometimes the world is ready to recieve you.

When you spend 12 hours with someone and dont get bored once, its got to be a good sign. Things are best when thay are pulled out long and slow....

So, there is this girl. Ive been nothing but clumsy and aloof and I know its hindering things. Usually I allow my nervousness to make me more aggressive, a tactic that works well when you have low expectations or baser intentions, but I dont think I want to do that with her. So Im left feeling incredibly out of my element and wondering when Im...

Last night I said the worst possible thing, at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way.
Last night I was a tool.

I have to quit drinking so much.
I have to quit drinking with people who make me want to scream and throw punches. I have to quit coming home in fits.

I'm going into hiding for a while. I'm going to...

Last night was so lovely. My favorite coupled friends took me to a big band jazz event with dancers, and restored cars, and two wonderful bands. I had a blast.

When they played Glenn Miller's 'In the Mood' I clearly remembered dancing with my father in the Smithfield community house. My parents were part of a Shag dancing club when I was younger. My mother...
