Sometimes I forget there is a world outside of Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu. Why would I leave, if everything I ever needed or wanted is right within my reach?
I always forget how beautiful Oahu is.....and then I'll take a little adventure and wonder how could I possibly live in Waikiki amidist the highrise condos, Dior, Vuitton, and a conglomerate of ABC Stores?
Today's little excursion was to a beautiful place called Hanauma Bay. Mask, fins, and snorkel in tow, I had a fantastic day surrounded by colorful fish.
There were a few (slightly funny) mishaps.
1. There was a rooster walking around on the beach. He kept crowing (do roosters crow? Is that what one would call it?). Rooster on the beach. HA!
2. I was on the beach, trying to sleep (which was quite the debacle with a rooster crowing in my ear) and I was at that point where one is almost asleep, only slightly conscious-just about to drift off into dreamland when a seagull (or maybe a pigeon) bit my toe. HAHA. I leapt up in a "What the FUCK" moment.
Ah..so now, I'm back in Waikiki, in my own little apartment, wishing that perhaps I had a little place in the country.
