I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

We spent the afternoon and evening at a friend's house who has a two year old and they had other friends in town who also has a two year old (somehow - not planned - they both had little girls two days apart). so it was really fun watching the dynamic of the two girls and seeing them one minute getting along really well and then the next fighting and then the next one would be crying and the other being the "good girl" showing off to the parents. they are so adorable in their innocence and sweetness, but, boy i just can't handle it when they switch on the crying or not sharing or yelling. i just don't know what to say to help smooth things or to stop them and keep myself from saying something too strong. granted, i don't need to, but i am fascinated and awed by my friends and family that can do that. y'all have patience beyond mine. don't get me wrong, i'm okay with that. i'm glad i am self-aware enough that i know i need to be able to walk in the other room if things get out of hand - and i do. my favorite moment with the girls last night was sitting in the chair in the corner of the living room and the little toe-head blond girl with the silkiest, finest hair ever lets me comb her hair (which i guess is not a normal thing - she doesn't let her parents do it without screaming) while she is sitting on this tiny rocking chair. she went and got the comb for me and then got all dreamy eyed and quiet and sleepy looking while i was combing her hair. she would even zone out and lean into the chair i was on while i was doing it. so sweet!
