*ADVISORY: photo geek post ahead*
i just shot mars volta.
pretty intense show.... at one point the singer started crawling towards me on his hands and knees - i was on the edge of the stage and the lights were so low my cam wouldn't focus it was maddening... such a great photo opportunity and my autofocus was scrambling...
*shutter press shutter press nothing*
he came right up into my lens singing inches away and kept going - on top of me off stage across my back into to the crowd behind the barricade - not in a "i will kill you" kinda way it was more like crazed leg humping... and all i could could think about was "dude watch the L lens..."

i still managed to get some good shots... sadly my release states i can only use the photos for the stated publication but when i post them on the venue site i will drop a linkee dink up in hurrr...

I shoot a lot of smaller bands and I've never yet had to ask for permission... they've always been cool about it. It seems that for bands like manson, billy idol, mars volta you got to et to get an agreement and sing something.... right? how do you go about it? btw mars volta playing in nyc tonight! going to check the show...
