"You cannot truly see beauty in life until you truly see beauty in death.

Contemplate these word as you lie in bed with a clove smoking in the ash tray and know that you will wither and die like every one else. Yet to anyone who can tap into this beauty the gift that awaits you is immortality as people will utter your name as your wrok influences generations to come"

This was a quoat from an old friend. I keep thinking about these word while i'm in school and wonder if i will tap into that beauty. So far i feel like i'm performing for a bunch of pertentious art magots that will take a piece and basicly rape it whether it is good or bad. I have been trying to bring in my tattoo designs into "fine" art. It's been frustrating and i don't feel like i'm getting anywhere. I think that it was time i reflected on my friend's old words of wisdom and encouragement. Still they are so interesting i thought i would share them with you. But i have ot wonder what all of you creative people think about these words.

"You cannot truly see beauty in life until you truly see beauty in death."
Great quote- I remember when I was doing performance art in Sydney that I used to say that you have to wade through the slamming grit to see any other vividness.
The blatant bleaching of an artists raw expression at art skool has seen so many people I know quit the rot it preaches. The one's that have completed the degree have ended up spitting out carbons of whatever the fuck was encouraged as "art" that year and of course their expression remains caught in one time, like they've forgotton how to purge the story of their expression free of the nazi- art -skool- rhetoric.
As for your tattoo art- it oughta be hanging from museum walls as a penetrating intensity of what art is.
