Funny how life is. I spent the day trying to write while they smashed away above me - replacing the roof of my 1910 craftman. Good news is next rain storm I won't leak. Watched the shield and wondered once again why I am drawn to violence. It haunted my childhood and no matter how far I get away from it, it keeps showing up in my writing. I'm coming to see you never slay your demons, you just learn to define them better. Maybe that's what art is about, defining and categorizing the demons you will never tame.
