Funny...I went to the doctor yesterday and this morning I woke up and while my throat is still a little sore, there's no more razor blades in it.
The doc gave me a prescription for penicillin because he was pretty sure I had strep too (at first he tried to tell me that most sore throats weren't strep, then he took one look at my throat and said "oh. Yeah. You might). He took a swab and said they'd get back to me with the results. I'm waiting for them to call before I fill the prescription. I hate taking antibiotics if I can help it (no one can blame drug-resistant bacteria on me!!!).
And it looks like Herakles might be coming over to keep me company tonight. I'm thinking maybe some South Park could be in order.
