It's been awhile since i've written a blog on SuicideGirls and thought it was a perfect time to write one! I wanna share with all of you my experiences with working with SuicideGirls!
Lets start at the beginning , I was a workaholic and was working everyday doing visual merchandising. I literally worked all the time with zero or very little time off. I loved doing visual merchandising because I was great at it, but my heart wasn't completely in it. I use to do side 'Go-Go' dance gigs at night to get my 'fix' because as most of you know, that is where my heart is. I love dancing so much and needed to do it some way or another , even if that meant running on no sleep for my day job. It got to the point where I needed to choose; dance or visual merchandising ? So I chose my dancing because I knew that it was my PASSION and nothing could compare to it. So I quit my job spontaneously ! I was terrified because I had no idea what was next in store for me! 'It could go either really bad or really good' That was stuck in my head every single day! I was scared.
Two days later, my sister tagged me on the SuicideGirls Instagram on the promotion flyer for their upcoming auditions for the Blackheart Burlesque auditions! My reply to her was "This is it!"
I was so nervous and excited for these auditions to happen! A couple days passed and it was the day to drive to Los angeles to audition and I knew I couldn't be more pumped and ready for them! As a dancer, I've been to MANY auditions, all different types of auditions, but never made it because they would tell me things like "You have too many tattoos" & "You do not have the 'look' we are searching for" When I showed up, there was so many girls! So many girls who looked like me! I have never felt so at home before.
After auditions , @missy , @sean , and our choreographer Manwe informed me that out of all the girls , I was one who was chosen! I couldn't have been happier!!! and couldn't be more ready for the next step in my life. Rehearsals began in February and I was so excited to meet all the girls and begin my everyday life where dancing was my day job! It was a dream come true. The girls in the office contacted me so we could get all the paperwork done for tour and they couldn't have been anymore helpful and easy to work with.
The first tour I was on was the Canadian tour last year in April with @sunny , @lolana , @shanti , @bricksie , @jennings , @echosum , @sean and AnneMarie. I was so excited and nervous for my first time out of the U.S.A and was even more anxious to get on stage performing across Canada! Tour was everything I hoped for and then some! SuicideGirls made sure they took care of us while being on the road. I couldn't ask to tour with a better company! @sean definitely made sure we tried all the amazing food in every city we visited (:
It was sad when the tour came to an end, but I was so excited to see what I was going to be doing next with SuicideGirls. When I did the Canadian tour I was not an actual SuicideGirl model , yet! I was really nervous about becoming an SG. I looked up to models such as @lyxzen, @gogo, and @radeo and thought I could never be like these girls !! And definitely didn't think I had the model skills to keep up with all these beauties on the site. When I got on stages to perform, I was not self conscience about my body at all, but behind a camera I definitely was. Especially being nude! I had never taken nude photos before. So while I was at home I thought , why not take some of myself? to see how I feel about it and how it looks. So I did and it wasn't actually bad! I wanted to become a SG, but the only thing that was stopping me was myself. I didn't care what other people would think about me and I've always been like that. I am proud of my body , tattoos and all! So I thought , WHY NOT!?
I expressed this to @sean and he then put me in contact with @milloux to shoot my very first set called 'Swelter' ! And let me tell you, I was so nervous ! But it went so amazing<3 Milloux made me feel very comfortable and sexy. She gave me helpful directions, tips, and feedback which helped in 1,000 ways and it definitely shows in the set.
When it came to setting up my SG profile on the site , @lyxzen helped me so much. Any question I had, she had the answer. I don't know what I would've done without her help <3 The girls in the office definitely know what they are doing!
Once my set went up, my fan base sky rocketed !! I was posted on multiple SuicideGirls personal instagrams congratulating me on my new and very first set and also posted on the actual SuicideGirls Instagram. I gained so many fans and followers! I truly felt so special. Since then I have shot 2 other sets with @aeterna and @paloma and it couldn't have been any more amazing to work with those two ladies as well.
In fall of 2014, we then went on tour across the U.S.A for 8Weeks long! I was prepared and excited to be with the girls again and have two of the most hardworking people I know with us, @sunshine as a tour manager and @lolana as our tour coordinator and merch girl! Tour was long, but so much fun!! Once again SuicideGirls made sure we were taken care of in every way , every single day.
After the fall tour , I was asked to fly to LONDON! My number dream since I was a child! It was almost a year since I first auditioned to join the Blackheart Burlesque, but this time around I was flying to London to run the auditions in the UK myself! I was so honored to be doing so <3 Since I first started the tour originally I worked so hard to be on top of everything I was responsible for, made sure I was easy to work with, and remain humble throughout the whole experience and I feel like it has been recognized and I feel truly appreciated.
As of today, during the breaks from tour I am now working in the SG office with so many lovely ladies and I do bookings for opening acts for our tour, help out with auditions, and on Tuesday I am flying to London once again to run an event called the 'Ballroom Blitz' with performers @arabella @katherine @cadorna @rubytrue . I am so thankful to come to work everyday in the office and be surrounded by nothing but positive ladies who want nothing but the best for this company. I want to thank @sean and @missy for EVERYTHING they have done for me and I cannot thank them enough. Becoming a SuicideGirl and also joining this tour has changed my life in so many positives ways. I have 1,000's SuicideGirl friends across the world now, I feel more and more confident about who I am and what I do, and I am living the ultimate dream touring the world doing what I love the most , Dancing<3
I love SuicideGirls and I'm happy to be apart of a such an accepting, successful company ! I love all of the fans i've made and all the girls I have met and this is just the beginning for me. I cannot wait to see what is next in store for me and better yet what is next for the company itself.
