Uh oh...

As for the G-Unit, I sold it months ago. I only put 12k on the thing in 2 years. Plus, it was totally not suited for surf racks. Found a great owner for it and made a killing so no harm, no foul. I need to get a replacement now but I'm lazy. I don't want anything fancy, just something functional for the next year or so. I'll probably wait a couple more months though...save some more money.

Thank you for the nice wishes smile

well, there's plenty of drama (check Olivia's journal), but she didn't leave on great terms. I think Kayla's pushed the envelope a lot, so she was finally zotted for something that might not doom someone else. she seemed plenty surprised. but she kinda knew it was coming. Voltaire left on good terms, so I'm at least glad for that.

Oh OH, I totally knew you were gonna comment on my post. tongue

Yeah, The looting and shooting at cops stuff does not help. There are ass holes everywhere I guess.

The thing is, The Big Easy is full of really poor people. A lot of them couldn't get out. Some were stupid and could have or were greedy and stayed to loot on purpose, but a lot were just freakin' poor or old and couldn't get out.

So after the rain clears, where the hell are the Heavy Lifters and the C5s full of food/water and medicine. Hell, even if all they could do was slide drop the crap into the water or palette drop it by the Superdome and let people tear into the stuff riot-style, it would have been better than the nothing that happened in the first 2 days. That's what I don't get. There were local rescues going on but no major food/water/medicine responses in the areas where the people were safe but stranded. Republican, Democrat, whatever, get on it FEMA!

surreal

Anyway. The fallout from this is gonna be nuts. We'll be lucky if a full on, dare I say, race/class/you-name-it war doesn't break out in the next few days/weeks in that part of the country. I'm not even gonna talk about the price of oil or the potential for some not so friendly nations to oil-shock us back to the stone age if they feel like it.

"Hold on to your butts"

sonofmorrissey:
Believe me, I hear your points as well, and that is a valid journal entry by her.

RE: Chertoff, I must have missed it when FEMA got rolled into Homeland Security? How/when/why did that happen? surreal

Knowing what I do about how they (HS) handle their business on the InfoSec side, I'd sleep a LOT better at night if they (FEMA) were back on their own and handling their biz outside the sphere of that clusterfuck of an organization.

But whatever.
