I just watched the Kurdt Cobain documentary About A Son by AJ Schank. It was very disappointing, given my fodness for Kurdt Cobain and Nirvana, as well as the fact that the director's prior documentary was the very excellent Gigantic: A Tale Of Two Johns (about They Might Be Giants).
Basically, the entirety of the movie is the audio of interviews Cobain gave for a...

I have come down to the realization the "Greatest Hits" (or "Best Of") compilations are not really such a good thing. Firstly, they seem to be designed only for monetary purpose (I know, duh, right?). That is not the big problem I suppose. But what I hate is when they add like, one or two songs to a Greatest Hits album so completists have to...

you left me such a nice comment on my set.. i just wanted to say "thank you"
Indiana Jones trailer doesn't look awful, but it doesn't look good either.
There is a big deal that the "teaser trailer" for Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is finally going to rear its head this week (Thursday, point of fact). I have no confidence in this movie's ability to be good (I thought and continue to think, the third movie was already one too many). Maybe after seeing some footage i'll change my...

RIP Roy Schieder
The seventies were probably the best decade, movie-wise, ever. Certain acotrs showed up in a lot of stuff. Roy Schieder was in Jaws, French Connection, All That Jazz, and Marathon Man. All interesting and worthy movies. Even in the eighties he was in some good stuff.
While all the obituaries will (and should) focus on Jaws, my personal favorite performace was in...

Looks like a great day!!!!
I just watched the film Across The Universe on DVD. I am mixed with feelings of happiness (over seeing such a great movie) and anger (that I stupidly didn't see it when it played theatrically). This is an excellent movie. I don't "adore" many things, but this movie is something I adore (and keep in mind I've only just watched it).
By and large I...

I FINALLY get to go see There Will Be Blood. It was compelling, amazing-looking, wonderful stuff...for an hour andd ten minutes. Then the SCREEN WENT BLANK!!!!!
Y'see there was a car accident that wiped out the power grid in the area, which wiped out all the computers in the shopping plaza the theatre is located in. The film was digitally projected, so they couldn't...

There Will Be Blood is FINALLY playing in my neck of the woods starting tomorrow. This weekend I plan to see it, as well as Juno and Atonement so I can say I saw all the Oscar nominated Best Pictures. That is, of course, if I can manage to scrounge up Hanna Montana 3D tickets. 'Cause she's, you know, talented, to say nothing of the...

FINALLY feeling better (or at least "less sick"). My aches have calmed down somewhat. Still a bit rumbly and have to be carefu, but am hopefully out of the proverbial woods.
I finally got to see the documentary King Of Kong (on DVD because no theatres in NJ would show it last summer). Excellent movie. Tight very funny and somewhat intense, it is about, of...
