Oasis NYC 2008. MSG.

They were good, on time, played loud and fast. The show lacked...inspiration but never persperation. Oasis shouldn't talk because it comes across as gibberish ("Bloy Bloi Blah Blah John Lennon effertauntinlwan song") I had a good time. Seventy dollars good? Sure, why not.

Earlier in the day I ate at Red Lobster (fuck you, it's my favorite restaurant EVAH). I tipped my waitress something close to double my bill. I say this not to show what a decent guy I am but because I was taken care of by her and it is the holiday season. You know you tipped well when your server comes over to you when you're walking out to thank you for the generous tip (as was the case here). Am I a sucker? I hope not. I truly hope I made her shitty rainy NYC day of people bitching that the cheesy biscuits didn't come fast enuff a bit brighter. Not much, I know, but I tried.

Look at me, Mr. Moneybags and shit. You can tell how little I have because the failure of all these banks and 401(k) accounts being torn asunder has left me in exactly the same place I would have otherwise been. I have a CD that has a low yield (but a "safe" one), but otherwise that is it. I want to be wealthy but I don't see that happening. I will be happy to keep my job and be paid a living wage. Lots of "tigers" on The Street now have less in the bank than me, and worse, are in seven-figure debt by borrowing against paper fortunes. Makes my Citibank credit card debt seem less oppressive all the time. At least my student loan is paid off.

I saw Gran Torino in NYC today (since it isn't opening around me till Jan 2009). It was good. Clint Eastwood is a treasure who keeps on keeping on. I hope he makes it to 100, 'cause that means at least a dozen more movies...

On the train home, this...chick and her brother were almost thrown off the train in Newark (which would have been comical for two little white snots). They were messed up (high) and were giving the conductor (who probably only wanted to be home and not clicking tickets at 12am) a lot of shit (which they were wrong about). The conductor finally figured "fuck it, not worth it" and let them stay on the train until my stop. When they got off I was behind them about twenty feet away. They fucking REEKED of skunk weed (pot that smells as if it was grown in an armpit). From several paces off they stank. The whole train ride the girl (cute, by the way) kept checking her face and hair in a pocket mirror. She looked good, but what man (or woman) would want to be near someone who smelled as bad as she did? I felt sad. What escape do hot chicks need to embark upon that they need to smoke up with their loser brothers, I wonder?
