I just finished "Vern"'s book Seagology about all the Steven Seagal movies. It was cool because he didn't just mock the films, but really appraised them. It was a good, fun read. It reminded me of the 19 year old me that loved shitty action flicks (y'know, afore I discovered Fassbinder and/or Scorcese). Seagal is a curious cat, as he manages to sneak in subversive viewpoints into B-Movies (most action movies were ra-ra kill em all republican-fests from 1985-1994 or so).

Watch "On Deadly Ground" sometime. It is not half bad (or "Half-Dead") and tries to do more than kill Red Russkies or Islam-Obsessed Terrorists.
