I have been pretty good about writing lately. I am currently in that nether region between finishing something and starting a new thing. I cannot decide if I should jump in and start something from scratch or go back and revise something I wrote a few years ago that needs a lot (a LOT lot) of rewriting. I thought it was in much better shape when I finished it, but when I read it now I think it really needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up, hopefully using the same building materials. To me re-writing can be ghastly or painless, but in this case I think it's going to be the equivalent of a dentist's visit, so I should probably force myself to just do it. Adversity builds character, or something (I read that in Newsweek Magazine one time I think).

I just watched a DVD (LUV Netflix) called 42nd Street Forever Vol 2, The Deuce. Two hours of old movie trailers. It was really good. I am somewhat shocked that previews used to show pretty decent amounts of nudity (to say nothing of the violence). I guess it's like old Playboys from the Seventies that would have nude women on the cover. I suppose it was a more permissive time back in the day. In any case, it could have been four hours and I woulda sat and watched the whole thing. Sometimes the coming attractions are the best part, an encapsulation of the "good parts" of a 90 minute movie boiled down to 2 and a half minutes.
