I had one of the most enjoyable times at the movies in recent memory today. I saw the Fathom Events simulcast of the Monty Python reunion show. Excellent fun, loads of laughs. They did a lot of their classics just like the Stones doing Satisfaction or Jumping Jack Flash. Greatness. I cannot stress enough how influential these guys have been. The mixture of stupid low...

Thankfully my phone has a "Scare The Bejeezus Out Of Me" mode that goes off to warn about possible flooding. It really shouldn't make that noise unless, you know, Godzilla has been seen approaching or a Sharknado or Birdemic or something is imminent. I mean, I'm "pretty" sure there won't be a Sharknado (the Bible fails to mention one), but I suppose if there ever...

Finally going to add Aerosmith to my list of bands I've seen this summer. I have always dug them (not so much the power balladry) so this should be pretty exciting. I can only hope to have the same vitality when I am their age.

I just watched Blue Is The Warmest Color. It was very long, very slow, and very very (VERY) French. Glad I watched it. The performances by the two leads were excellent. This movie sort of got reduced in the publicity/reviews down to just being about the sex scenes, but it is much more than that. If you have patience and don't mind reading subtitles for...

Finally. A movie about Jesus! Something new. Plus, you have to go see it if you want to know how he ties into the next Avengers movie.

Ok, so I was going to do an actual theatrical release movie review this time, but only a cursory glance at the current movie timetables proffered up such gems as The Family (remember way back when Robert De Niros...

shave my head about every two weeks. Often, whilst doing so, I am compelled to shave my eyebrows off as well, so I can tell people I'm "pulling a Syd Barrett". But I don't. Because what if they don't grow back? I'd hate to go through life wearing eyebrow toupees.
scarlettxx:
don't shave your eyebrows LOL i never realized how weird humans look without eyebrows..no eyebrows
majorboredom:

I've done that many times. They grow back fine. haha

Most people know about Chuck, the lost older brother on Happy Days. But few mention the existence (and subsequent disappearance) of Fonzie's nephew Spike. Spike dressed a lot like the Fonz and hit on Joanie (I believe he aspired to be a florist), but was later phased out and more or less replaced by Chachi Arcola. Who knew 1950's Wisconsin was such a Bermuda Triangle...

Lovelace was an almost good movie. Amanda Seyfried did stellar work in an under-written role. It's one of those movies with lots of famous actors in small roles, which is distracting and takes you out of the movie. Also, if your movie is 87 minutes (before credits) and has two separate "Six years later" jumps it is probably not structured properly. Also, per the credits,...

I'm not really one who goes all in on being overly (or overtly) spiritual. I wasn't raised to be religious (lapsed Catholics on both sides of my family tree). I am not big on the thought that there's loads of meaning in everything that happens.

Backstory--In college, I collaborated on writing projects with two friends, Michael and Melissa. We were (as so many young aspiring...

Brian Wilson, Al Jardine, and David Marks should be allowed to call themselves The Beach Boys, for they put on a better show than the legal Beach Boys (AKA Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, and Pals). While Brian Wilson is pretty passive for a headlining artist, I am thankful that he's able to tour at all. I saw him in concert tonight and was quite impressed....
