This week proved more productive than the last. Its always hard trying to co-ordinate schedules with people, due to my odd night time work

Ive still be testing out the new lens. I find its pretty good. I generally like to shoot wider, and see a little bit of chromatic aberration, but nothing like the 18-70mm that I had before. It seems to be incredibly sharp when you shoot close-ups, but lose quality when it has a small subject to focus on, in a wide shot. Im sure this wouldnt be so much of an issue if I could see more than a foot in front of me and could focus manually. Sadly though, that cant happen.

All in all, still happy with it and I think Ill keep it.
Here is Julie. I shot her in very low light at Zaphods, in the market. It would have been nice to have a modeling light, but we had some helping hands from James, who shone a flashlight in Julies face (poor Julie). These are two, of about 60 selects. This girl knows what shes doing, and it made my job so much easier!

She was great, and I appreciate people helping me out, by modeling, holding flashlights, whatever it may be.

The next day, I shot Becky Abbott. This was to be a set up, country-ish shoot, but it doesnt always work out. I used my lumedyne light with a plug you put in the cigarette lighter of your car. I tested in the driveway, at home and got great results, a little slow on the recycling, but it popped every time. I got to the shoot, set up the light, turned the car partially on, and nothing not one flash. I have no idea why it wouldnt work, but it didnt. Regardless, the sun was in a pretty neat spot, so we could still pull some Rembrandt out of it, and the sun gave the shoot a really warm feel, which is new to me.

(yes, I know, her shoe is in shadow thats where Id like to control the light with a strobe, and we couldnt move her any other way, or shed fall.)

Another great model, Becky really knew what she was doing.

Ill have a few more of her once they are edited, but its the long weekend and I work at a bar, so essentially, I wont be home until Tuesday.
As always, thanks for reading.
