An Avalanche Of Thought

There is something in the air that's emerging
and spreading rapidly over countrysides
and cities and subarbs everywhere. Its a fascinating,
unyielding, and quite simply intoxicating feeling
that strips us bare and leaves us begging,
drooling like little dogs on our bellies
just waiting for our masters to rub it
so we shake our legs fast, contentedly
seeking the solace of others as a collective group
and listen to the modest proposal in our homes, on our televisions,
our tubes tied around and circulating messages
that ring true, yet sublime rants
like this one here as I type this
and it goes on and on without end,
this ceaseless racket that is now filling your head.
But where does it end? When shall it end?
Why do I ask you these questions, quite simply knowing
that no one possesses the answers
to the questions on the quiz that you just took
and aced (good job, by the way),
so leave it attached to the refridgerator
with a little magnet, and see the smiling faces
of the family as this something passes
over suburbs and cities and countrysides
and envelopes all in consuming feeling
while this rant comes to a close
and we blink out one by one to say
goodnight to the stars above us
and the blades of grass below us.
Goodnight sublime feeling, goodnight endless
heady rant.
