I laid forever in your hands
just to watch it slip through your fingers like sand
and fall to the ground
where it shattered like glass.
And I watched you weep for the loss of something
you couldn't hold onto; something you tried
so hard to keep
to make stay with you though you knew
it was only a matter
of time.

I laid the moment at your feet
through poems and photographs
to sooth the scars on your heart
and I watched you sink to the ground
like a puddle
of unadulterated emotion.
I'm sorry that its all taking its toll on you
and I wish I had the right words to say...
but I don't, since you're already gone.

You lapsed away into silence, the way so many go
and its been so long now. Its hard to believe
its been coming up on three years
since you stopped pushing
since you ended all life and promise for yourself.
She wasn't worth it dude.
But I hope you've found peace, nonetheless.
